Hazel Parker is at a turning point in her life. She had made her career as a wedding photographer, but her recently finalized divorce could damage her reputation with clients. Who would want a recently divorced photographer capturing the happiest wedding moments? She also can’t seem to get away from her ex because he works with her dad. Hazel wanted to start over and decides to move from LA to New York City.
Sebastian Sanchez is a baseball icon. However, after injuries and a bad PR image of being a womanizer he’s not sure about his future on the NY Pinstripes. His contract was coming up for renewal and he was worried that he was going to become a free agent. He loved living in New York and it was his home.
Hazel and Sebastian met at a hockey game and can’t stop thinking about each other. As luck would have it, they run into each other again and Sebastian comes up with a plan to help both their careers, fake dating! He needed to be seen as a committed boyfriend for the baseball manager and she needed to give the image of someone happy and in love for her clients. They agree to some rules and go for it. The biggest rule: don’t catch feelings!
I absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading, I couldn’t put this book down! Hazel and Sebastian develop such a great friendship. I think that is what I liked the most about this book. I love when characters have chemistry, and these two absolutely do. They were absolutely perfect for each other. Sebastian was such a caring, sexy, baseball player. He comes off as someone who just never wants to date women seriously, but it’s because with his baseball career he doesn’t think he can be a present boyfriend. He doesn’t want to end up like his parents. Hazel was a great character as well. She was independent and trying to build herself back up after her divorce. She didn’t realize what she was missing in a relationship until she was with Sebastian and realized what true love really is. I gave this book 5-stars because I loved everything about it.
