Five people, one goal… assassinate the God King Joon. Each brings a talent to the table, poison maiden, pickpocket, spy master, and strongman. These skills will be necessary if they want to succeed. They all have their own reasons for wanting him dead but can they forge an alliance and trust each other enough to accomplish their goal? The journey to get to the king has been a difficult one. Some one in the group is lying, or all of them are lying to each other.
If I’m being honest, I think this book was really hyped up and it was good but not great. The book is told from each person’s POV which I liked because you got the backstory of each character and how they were connected. It just wasn’t as exciting as I thought it would be. I did enjoy it for the most part. I just don’t think that this really needed to be part of a series. It could have been one really strong book instead of ending where it did so that people would have to read the next book. I wanted to love it but I’m not sure this will be a series that I follow.
