I signed up to be on Lauren Blakely’s ARC team and was excited to be accepted. I have previously received an ARC for another book she wrote, so I was excited to be able to read this book!

Elodie is a chocolatier, she owns her own shop selling all of her chocolate creations. After her parents died she took on the responsibility of raising her younger sister. Gage is a single dad. He owns his own bar and is trying to open a second location. When Elodie stops into the bar to grab some food, Gage becomes interested but makes no move. As lucky would have it, he gets another shot and they go out on a date. They realize that they could work together and find themselves in a  fake engagement that leads to a read marriage with a catch, once they accomplish their goals they end the marriage. We all know how this type of book ends which is why we love it so much. Of course, when it comes time to end it they can’t because they fall in love.

I must be in my fake dating era, because the last couple of books I’ve read were this trope! I loved these characters. Elodie is smart, sexy, and clever. She isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. Gage is sweet, sexy, and reserved. He doesn’t date and just tries to be the best father and businessman that he can be. They had great chemistry! This book was funny and sexy, definitely recommend!
